How to use Schedule Builder in Hokie Registration

Use the Schedule Building feature in Hokie Registration to build schedule options for courses you want to take in a specific term. You may use this feature in preparation for course request and add/drop.

Once in the Hokie Registration Menu, use the search criteria to look for classes you plan to add.

  1. In Search Results, select a course and then select “Add to Plan”.
  2. Choose “Primary Plan” and “no term” then click ok
  3. The Course will now appear in your Plan Worksheet
  4. Repeat these steps until you have added all of the courses you would want to add to your plan
  5. Now select “Plan Tools” and “Schedule My Plan”
  6. Ensure a checkmark is selected next to all of the courses you want to plan and select “generate schedules”
  7. In the Possible Schedules menu, review possible schedules
    • You may review a text overview with the days and times of the schedule
    • Or select the calendar icon for a calendar view of the schedule
  8. Identify the schedule you want most and select “Accept New Cart”
  9. A popup will appear with the courses you plan to add to your cart. Click ok
    During before or during Course Request this will be your last step.
  10. If in the add/drop period, select “Go to Course Selection”
  11. Review your planned changes. Ensure the checkbox to the right of the course(s) are selected. If any error messages appear for a course, resolve the error before proceeding.
  12. Select Submit Courses
  13. In the Registration Results panel, any successful registrations will appear with a green check mark and the text confirming the course was added. Any unsuccessful registrations will appear with a red x and text explaining why the change was not successful.
