How to make a change to your schedule
Swap This With can be used when you want to drop a course only if adding a different course is successful. If you use the Swap This With function, changes to your schedule will only be made if all conditions are met. Some examples of how this feature may be useful to you is when you want to:
- swap one course for another scheduled at the same time
- switch one section of a course for a different open section of the same course
- Switch one course for another course when only a few open seats are available
Keep in mind, you cannot add courses past the add deadline. Please review Dates and Deadlines on the Registrar’s website to review registration deadlines for the term.
How to swap a class:
- Once in the Add/drop menu for the term you wish to register for, use the Search Criteria to locate the course you want to add to your schedule and add the course to your primary cart.
- In the Registration Options Panel, locate the drop down menu next to “Swap This With”. Select the course you want to drop if you are able to add the new course. Select Save Changes.
- The Cart Contents panel will appear with a red dash next to the course you plan to drop. A blue shopping cart will appear next to the course you plan to add. If these icons indicate the correct action you want to take, select “go to course selection”.
- The registration panel will appear with a black check mark next to the course you want to add with the text “swapping in this course”. Select Submit Courses to push this change to registration.
If the swap was successful, a green plus sign will appear next to the course you plan to add with language confirming the swap. If the swap was unsuccessful, a red x will appear next to the course with a description for why the swap was unsuccessful.
